Jordan's major tourist activities include numerous ancient places, its unique desert castles and unspoiled natural locations, to its cultural and religious sites. Visitors can explore the magnificent rock-hewn city of Petra, one of the New Seven Wonders of the World; Madaba, well known for its Byzantine mosaics; Roman temples and theaters, the River Jordan and one of the several nature reserves. Diving in Jordan is year round. Summer months July to September are hot while during the cooler winter months, January and February, you may experience an increase in winds.
