It is 19 miles long and 6 miles across, at its widest point, with an area of approximately 70 square miles. Aruba is a stunning island, with picturesque beaches, and renowned friendly locals. This flat island is multicultural and has some splendid scenic beaches.
Aruba is a great diving holiday destination for honeymooners and all levels of diver. The coastline around Aruba is also home to some of the best wrecks in the Caribbean. With warm temperatures and fantastic underwater visibility, it is a diver's paradise. Aruba is the perfect choice for anyone travelling with non-diving partners and family members as there are so many activities to enjoy on the island.
The Diving In Aruba
Aruba is known as the wreck diving capital of the Caribbean with 42 dive sites dotted around its coastline. With a constant temperature of around 28 degrees Celsius and good visibility of up to 30 metres, diving in Aruba is a dream come true. The abundance of dive sites means that there is something to suit everyone, from shallow reefs with a multitude of marine life to amazing wrecks including a World War Two wreck stretched out over 400ft. Underwater photographers will love Aruba while beginners can also learn to dive in the warm waters here!
There are very few shore dives, so most diving in Aruba will require a short boat ride to reach the sites. Along with amazing wreck diving, you can look forward to seeing large schools of fish and dramatic coral formations.
The Nightlife In Aruba
Aruba is a really relaxed and chilled out island, though still offers a lively nightlife. The hotels alone offer good evening entertainment, with casinos and great restaurants. Evening cruises depart from Palm Beach, where you can set sail on a romantic dinner cruise or a wild boat party.
Throughout the island is an abundance of both lively and chilled out bars, restaurants with fantastic food, and casinos open until the early hours. The island's bus service is a great way to get around the small island to see all the entertainment. Alternatively, a car is a great way to get around in the evenings and visit the lively capital city, Oranjestad.
