Sri Lanka Tour Overview
This Sri Lankan tour has been designed to fit in with a Maldives Dive Holiday. The concept works really well as some airlines stop in Sri Lanka for a change over anyway, so why not make the most of visiting Sri Lanka?
We have created this tour to be 4 nights in Sri Lanka, however we can lengthen and shorten the stay so that it fits perfectly with your plans. We have also used good quality accommodation for a luxurious option, however we can also adjust this to suit your taste and budget.
For this tour we have included a private driver, who will greet you in the morning, take you to whichever sights you'd like to see, and drop you off at your hotel in the evening. This luxury may sound pricey, but it is in fact a really economical way of seeing the country, and definitely the most convenient and relaxing.
Day 1: Depart UK
Fly overnight from the UK to Colombo in Sri Lanka.
Day 2: Colombo
Once you have arrived in Colombo a private driver will greet you and drive you to your hotel in Sigiriya, where you will spend your first night in the Jetwing Vila Uyana. you can stop along the way to take pictures, and see sights.
Once you have dropped off your bags you can make your way to the shops and restaurants for the evening.
Day 3: Exploring Sigiriya
Whilst in Sigiriya, visit Dambulla, the famous Cave Temple and Sigiriya Rock, a must see on any holiday to Sri Lanka.
Day 4: Excursions
After breakfast, you can take in the fantastic sights at Anuradhapura, which is one of the world's oldest inhabited citie,s or make your way down to Kandy. In Kandy you can visit the old shops, gemstone specialists, or the town market. Be sure to visit the Temple of the Tooth, a sacred Buddhist site. You can easily combine this visit with a walk around the botanical gardens. A visit to the spice plantations or tea plantations also make for a memorable excursion in Sri Lanka.
Spend the night at Earl's Regency on a half board meal plan.
Day 5: Colombo again
On your way back to Colombo, you can stop at the Pinewela Elephant Orphanage, where you may be able to watch the baby elephants feed from bottles, and be amazed by the abundance of elephants. You will spend another night at the Jetwing Beach Hotel on a bed and breakfast meal plan where you are a short walk to a variety of restaurants and shops. Colombo is also a good place to base yourself for day tours.
