Diving Seasons In Mahe

Diving is possible all year round but is governed by the prevailing winds. In general the best dive seasons are between April-May and October-November, when water temperature can rise to 29ºC and offers excellent visibility, up to 30 metres. Between December and January, the north-west winds blow but conditions remain much the same as in the calm periods except with a little surface chop. From May to September the winds are stronger and blow south-easterly bringing drier, cooler weather, and livelier seas. Visibility and water temperature drop during August to around 25°C. A wet suit of at least 3mm is necessary.
