Tour Highlights
A simple tour split between the wild and uncommercial Rodriguez Island, and the luxurious St Regis Resort on the main island of Mauritius. Two very contrasting experiences in one exceptional Mauritian holiday.
Days 1 - 6
4* Rodriguez Boutique Bungalows
Half Board
On arrival at Rodriguez airport, you will be met by our superb ground agent for a 30-minute transfer to your chosen Kitesurf resort. Our personal favourite is the Rodriguez Boutique Bungalows, a great property that is very much in keeping with the island's natural, uncommercial feel.
Rodrigues Island
Surrounded by a crystal clear lagoon in the Indian Ocean, is the secluded island of Rodrigues. The small, windy island is located around 400 miles off the coast of Mauritius. The entire island is only 5 miles by 11 miles surrounded by a huge turquoise lagoon, stunning. Whilst on the outside, the reefs are constantly battered by the oceans swells, inside the reef the flatness of the lagoons water makes this an absolute paradise for snorkelling, swimming or standup paddleboarding.
A holiday to Rodriquez Island is best in combination with either Mauritius main island or Reunion Island. Rodriquez is mostly about getting away from the main tourist resort of Mauritius and enjoying peace and tranquility on this beautiful and charismatic island.
Days 6 - 11
5* St Regis Mauritius Resort
Half Board
For the 2nd half of this trip, we will fly you back to the main island of Mauritius, followed by a 1-hour transfer to the luxury St. Regis resort in Le Morne. This is the ultimate luxury ocean-sport experience.
Le Morne
"Mauritius was made first, and then heaven; and heaven was copied after Mauritius" wrote Mark Twain a good 100 years ago. The famous writer was not wrong. Bizarre mountain peaks, magnificent palm-fringed beaches, colourful coral reefs, shimmering azure lagoons, and amazing wind from May to November makes Mauritius one of the world's best destinations for windsurfers and kitesurfers.
The water area of Mauritius is a real museum, full of ancient ship wrecks, caverns, cliff faces and coral reefs. While diving in the waters off Mauritius you may run into sharks, whales, dolphins, barracuda, tuna, rays, eels, turtles, bass, red-snapper, lobsters, lionfish, parrotfish, sergeant-major fish, crabs and boxfish (our favorite character in the cartoon “Finding Nemo”), and the rich vegetation will make your dive a real adventure.
Mauritius is a great diving spot in the Indian Ocean. Divers come from all over the world for the excellent scuba diving. The main reason for this is that the weather is nice all year round, and you may dive whenever you want, no matter whether it’s winter or summer.
There are other superb resorts on Mauritius island and also on the neighbouring islands of Reunion and Rodriquez, Planet Travel are specialists in tailor made tours to this area so please call and speak to an expert travel professional about combining your stay in Le Morne with a wide range of other locations.
