Black Pearl
Black Pearl is a modern luxury dive liveaboard operating in Palau, Micronesia, designed to offer high comfort alongside very well organised diving. Built in 2019, the yacht is approximately 46.8 metres long and is laid out to provide generous living space, smooth diving operations, and a calm, refined atmosphere throughout the trip. It accommodates a maximum of 24 guests, with a high crew-to-guest ratio to ensure strong service levels both on deck and underwater.
Accommodation is arranged across 12 cabins in three categories, with a maximum occupancy of two guests per cabin. All cabins are fully air conditioned and feature private en-suite bathrooms with hot showers, storage space, charging points, safety deposit boxes, and modern finishes throughout.
There are two Master Seaview Cabins located on the upper deck. These are the largest and most premium cabins onboard and are designed for double occupancy. They offer extra floor space compared to the other cabin categories, a comfortable double bed, and large sea-view windows that bring in plenty of natural light. These cabins are well suited to guests who want the most space and privacy during the cruise.
On the main deck, there are four Seaview Cabins, also designed for a maximum of two guests each. These cabins feature large windows with direct ocean views and are located close to the main social and dining areas. Bedding is arranged as either a double or twin configuration, depending on the individual cabin. These cabins balance comfort, convenience, and light very well.
The lower deck houses six Deluxe Cabins, each designed for two guests. These cabins are arranged in a twin-bed layout and are slightly more compact than the upper categories, but they remain very comfortable and well finished. They are particularly popular with active divers who value a quiet, cool cabin and a practical layout.
Public areas onboard are spacious and well distributed. The main indoor dining room is air conditioned and serves as the central social space, where meals and dive briefings are held. There is also an indoor bar area and comfortable seating for relaxing between dives. Outside, the yacht offers multiple deck spaces, including an open-air lounge, shaded seating areas, sun loungers, and a whirlpool. These areas are ideal for relaxing during surface intervals or enjoying the scenery at the end of the day.
Diving operations are designed to be smooth and efficient. Diving is conducted from two dedicated tenders, each capable of carrying a full group of divers, allowing easy access to Palau’s channel and wall sites while keeping the main vessel comfortable and uncluttered. The dive deck includes space for equipment preparation, storage, and rinsing, with clear routines that make repetitive diving easy and stress-free.
The yacht is equipped with modern compressors and a nitrox system, and nitrox is available for certified divers. Tanks are fitted with valves suitable for both DIN and yoke regulators, and larger tanks can be made available on request, subject to availability. Rinse tanks are provided for both dive equipment and underwater camera systems, and there is a dedicated camera preparation and charging area onboard.
Diving itineraries focus on Palau’s most iconic and fish-rich sites, with routes planned according to conditions and diver experience. Typical dives include dramatic wall dives, current-swept channels, and outer reef corners, as well as calmer lagoon and reef dives. The area is known for strong marine life encounters, including reef sharks, schooling barracuda and jacks, turtles, rays, and dense coral growth. Some dives involve currents, which are carefully managed through planning, timing, and the use of reef hooks where appropriate.
