Overview of Superior
The Emperor Superior is a stylish, purpose-built liveaboard designed for exploring the best dive sites in Egypt’s Red Sea. Stretching 37 metres and spread over four spacious decks, she offers comfort, safety, and a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere for up to 26 guests. Every detail on board is designed with divers in mind, yet she also has the feel of a small, friendly hotel at sea.
Accommodation is arranged across thirteen en-suite cabins, each with individually controlled air conditioning, comfortable beds, and space for your belongings. On the lower deck, the cosy twin-berth cabins feature side-by-side beds, while two L-shaped cabins offer a clever bunk-style layout. On the main deck, there’s a generous cabin with a queen-sized bed plus an extra single, perfect for couples or small families, along with a flexible twin cabin that can convert to a double. The upper deck is home to a twin cabin and a double cabin, each with large windows framing sweeping views of the sea.
Life on board is as much about relaxation as it is about diving. The air-conditioned saloon is a cool retreat after a day in the water, with a TV and DVD player for quiet evenings. Mealtimes are a highlight, with a generous buffet of freshly prepared dishes blending local and international flavours. Fresh fruit, snacks, tea, coffee, soft drinks, and water are always available, while complimentary red wine adds a touch of indulgence to dinner. Two sundecks—one shaded, one open—offer space to stretch out and watch the Red Sea drift by, and the open-air lounge at the bow is the perfect spot for sunset.
The dive deck is large and well-organised, giving each diver their own station for equipment, along with camera work tables, rinse tanks, and charging points for underwater photography gear. Two speedy tender dinghies ferry guests directly to the dive sites. Standard 12-litre aluminium tanks are provided, with the option for larger or steel tanks if needed, and Nitrox is free for certified divers.
Safety is taken seriously, with equipment that includes emergency oxygen, first aid kits, life jackets, life rafts, VHF radios, an EPIRB beacon, AED, fire alarms, extinguishers, and smoke detectors. Regular drills ensure the crew is ready for any situation, and modern navigation systems such as GPS, radar, and chart plotters keep the voyage on course.
Itineraries usually begin in Hurghada and span a full week, offering more than twenty dives at some of the Red Sea’s most iconic locations. Wreck lovers can explore the legendary Thistlegorm and the reef of Abu Nuhas, while those who prefer dramatic walls and rich marine life can visit the Brother Islands, Ras Mohamed National Park, and the Tiran Straits. Depending on the route—whether “Reefs and Wrecks”, “Famous Five” or “North and Easy”—divers enjoy a balanced mix of history, vibrant reefs, and encounters with everything from colourful reef fish to pelagic species.
The Emperor Superior blends the thrill of world-class diving with the ease and comfort of a well-run liveaboard, making her an excellent choice for both seasoned divers and those experiencing the Red Sea for the first time.
