Kisiwa On The Beach Paje, in detail

Kisiwa On The Beach

Kisiwa on the Beach is a refined beachfront villa resort on Zanzibar’s southeast coast, set along the soft white sands of Paje. It is perfect for couples, families, and laid-back travellers looking for peace, privacy and barefoot luxury. With just 22 villas spread among lush tropical gardens, the atmosphere is tranquil and understated. The interiors reflect Zanzibari tradition with hand-carved wood, warm tones and natural textures. Highlights include direct beach access, a beautiful pool overlooking the sea, a relaxing spa, a gym, and a strong focus on personal service. The location is ideal for enjoying water sports, exploring the local village, or simply unwinding by the Indian Ocean.
All villas are single-storey and detached, with private verandas, garden pathways and open interiors that combine comfort with local style. Every villa includes air conditioning, ceiling fan, flat-screen satellite TV, Wi-Fi, minibar, tea and coffee station, safe, hairdryer and a spacious bathroom with twin basins, a walk-in shower and a separate bathtub.
The Bahari Beachfront Villas are around 80 square metres in size and sit right on the edge of the sand, with uninterrupted sea views from both the bedroom and the veranda. They sleep up to two adults and one child on a roll-away bed and offer direct beach access.
The Bahari Grand Villas are also 80 square metres and located just a few steps from both the beach and the pool. These villas feature an open-plan bedroom and lounge area and a shaded veranda. They are ideal for guests who want to be close to the central facilities while still enjoying privacy. Maximum occupancy is two adults plus one child.
The Raha Luxury Villas are slightly smaller at 70 square metres. They are set back slightly from the beach in more secluded garden areas but still enjoy partial sea views. Each has a bedroom with a lounge area and a veranda surrounded by tropical plants. They sleep two adults and one child.
The Starehe Garden Villas are also 70 square metres and sit deeper within the resort gardens. They have peaceful garden views and are especially suited for families. Some can interconnect to create a two-bedroom arrangement. Each villa accommodates two adults and one child comfortably.
The central swimming pool is shaped like a crescent and lies directly beside the beach. It is surrounded by cushioned loungers and palm-shaded areas, with drinks and refreshments served throughout the day. The beachfront restaurant, set under a high thatched roof, offers relaxed open-air dining with views over the sea. It serves a mix of international and Zanzibari dishes using local ingredients. Private beach dinners and in-villa meals can also be arranged.
The resort spa sits in a quiet garden courtyard and offers a wide range of treatments including massages, facials, scrubs, hot stone therapy and manicures. It also has a Jacuzzi and relaxation space. The air-conditioned gym nearby is available to all guests and includes weights, treadmills and cross-trainers.
There is a small meeting and conference room on site, suitable for events of up to 30 people seated boardroom style or 50 theatre-style. The space includes AV equipment, projector, flip-charts and Wi-Fi.
For activities, the hotel can arrange snorkelling, diving, sailing trips, kayaking, canoeing and guided cultural experiences. The area is well-known for kite-surfing, and nearby centres provide tuition and equipment. Guests can also join boat trips, dolphin spotting tours and visits to local markets and spice farms.
Other amenities include a beachfront lounge and bar, a library with games and books, a boutique gift shop, babysitting, laundry and dry-cleaning services, concierge assistance and daily housekeeping. Free parking is available and airport transfers can be arranged.
Kisiwa on the Beach is a peaceful and stylish retreat that balances authentic Zanzibari charm with comfort and care. Its quiet setting, elegant design and personalised service make it ideal for those seeking a relaxed and memorable island escape.
