Why we rate this centre

The beautiful island of Medhufushi is one of only two resorts in Meemu Atoll. It is located directly on the outer reef and is characterised by a magnificent lagoon which is ideal for beginner’s training. Of course, the lagoon also offers perfect conditions for swimming, surfing and sailing.

Most of the nearly untouched dive sites are easy to dive and feature a great diversity of corals and fishes. Several spectacular channels, e.g. Mantas & More, count amongst the top ten in the Maldives. Manta rays, whale sharks and countless grey reef sharks are the main entries in guests’ log books.

They have 2-3 diving boats (dhonies) which depart daily at 9:00 and 14:30. The various dive sites can be reached within 5 – 60 minutes. There is something for everyone. Many of the dive sites are situated within the atoll and they offer stress free easy diving, however our dive professionals will definitely not be disappointed either. Just 20 minutes by boat are two amazing dive spots, Mulah-Kandu and Mulee-Kandu (Mantas and More, Sharks tongue). 2 – 3 times a week day tours will be available which take you to the spectacular channel sites to the west of the atoll.  Night diving by boat will be offered once or twice a week, an experience which you should not miss.

The spaciously dive centre has been designed by professionals to meet the special needs of scuba divers. The school is generously equipped to the highest and most modern standards.

  • 60 jackets
  • 40 regulators with octopus, pressure gage and inflator
  • 60 sets of masks, fins and snorkels
  • 30 wet suits (3mm shorties)
  • 40 dive computers
  • 10 torches
  • 2 underwater cameras
  • 1 Action Pro X 8 camera

As an extra special experience, we offer trips with a choice of 3 underwater scooters, diving in a new dimension.

80 aluminium tanks with 12 litres capacity are filled up to 215 bar by 2 electro-compressors in an external compressor house. Of course, we offer NITROX as well. A modern and secure Nitrox filling station has been installed.

Oxygen and a first aid kit are available on each boat. The crew is specially trained to offer medical assistance in any emergency which may occur. If necessary they can be at the decompression chamber on Bandos by seaplane within 45 minutes.

The diving courses take place in small groups (1 diving instructor – 2 participants), thus avoiding stress and ensuring effective training to meet your individual needs. The beginner training course is split up over three days. The students are in the water mornings and afternoons. They will be introduced to the basics of diving in groups of two by professional dive instructors. The last of the six training sessions will include starting out from a boat.

The theory (about 6 hours in total) will be taught over the three days between 17:30 and 19:30. After successfully completing the final theory examination, the diving student will be presented with an internationally recognised certificate (Open Water Diver – SSI and International Aquanautic Club). Alternatively, you may choose the PADI training programme (PADI Open Water Diver).

The diving school offers advanced courses up to CMAS gold and SSI/PADI Divemaster level. We can train and certify you in most specialized diving courses, all of them after the regulations of CMAS, IAC, PADI and SSI.
