Six Senses Laamu, in detail

Six Senses Laamu

Six Senses Laamu is a secluded and eco-friendly luxury resort in the Maldives, ideal for couples, honeymooners, families and anyone seeking a blend of barefoot relaxation and high-end comfort. The atmosphere is calm and natural, with wooden pathways winding through lush greenery, pristine beaches, and crystal-clear lagoons. The resort is known for its strong focus on sustainability, world-class snorkelling and diving, surfing opportunities, wellness experiences, and gourmet dining. It is the only resort in the remote Laamu Atoll, offering a private, tranquil escape surrounded by untouched marine life and turquoise waters.
Accommodation is spacious and designed in harmony with nature. The Lagoon Beach Villas are approximately 220 square metres, featuring a king-size bed or twin beds, a large outdoor bathroom with an open-air shower and bathtub, a private garden, daybeds, a rooftop terrace for sunset views, and direct access to the beach. These villas accommodate up to three adults or two adults and two children.
The Lagoon Beach Villas with Pool are similar in design but include a private pool within the villa’s garden, offering added privacy and space for up to four guests.
The Ocean Beach Villas and Ocean Beach Villas with Pool, at around 220 to 238 square metres, are located on the ocean-facing side of the island for uninterrupted sea views, with similar layouts and features.
Family Beach Villas with Pool offer around 253 square metres of space, including a separate children’s room, private pool, outdoor bathroom, and garden, making them ideal for up to four guests.
The Two-Bedroom Ocean Beach Villa with Pool spans 730 square metres, with two bedrooms, large open-plan living and dining areas, a private pool, a large garden, rooftop terrace, and space for up to six guests, perfect for larger families or groups.
Overwater villas are built on stilts above the lagoon with uninterrupted sea views. Laamu Water Villas are around 108 square metres, with a king-size bed, a bathroom with a glass-bottom bathtub, an outdoor rain shower, a private sun deck with loungers and hammock nets, and direct ladder access to the water, suitable for up to three adults or two adults and two children.
Laamu Water Villas with Pool offer a similar layout but with a private infinity pool overlooking the ocean.
Sunset Laamu Water Villas and Sunset Laamu Water Villas with Pool are positioned for panoramic sunset views, featuring the same elegant interiors and private outdoor spaces.
The resort’s spa sits over the water with treatment rooms designed like nest-like cocoons, offering a wide selection of therapies, massages, facials, and wellness journeys using natural ingredients. A yoga pavilion and a fitness centre with modern equipment are available for guests, alongside wellness programmes focusing on mindfulness, sleep improvement, and detox.
Dining includes several options. Leaf offers organic, farm-to-table Mediterranean cuisine sourced from the island’s own gardens and nearby farms. Longitude is the main restaurant with international dishes and live cooking stations for breakfast and dinner. Zen offers Japanese-inspired cuisine with sushi and teppanyaki. Sip Sip is a casual spot near the pool for light meals and pizzas. Chill Bar sits over the water with hammocks and stunning sunset views, serving drinks and snacks. The resort also has an unlimited ice cream and chocolate station, fresh juices, and private dining experiences on the beach or sandbanks.
Water activities are a key highlight, with snorkelling directly from the beach or overwater villas, guided diving excursions to nearby reefs, surfing lessons at Yin Yang surf break, kayaking, paddleboarding, windsurfing, catamaran sailing, dolphin cruises, and fishing trips. The resort has a PADI-certified dive centre with courses for all levels.
For families, The Den kids’ club offers supervised activities, nature discovery sessions, crafts and games for children aged 3 to 12. The Junior Marine Biologist programme lets older kids explore marine life with experts. Babysitting services are available on request.
Other services include bicycles for each guest to explore the island, a library lounge, a photo studio, boutique shops, a medical clinic, and a personal guest experience manager for each villa. The resort organises excursions, sandbank picnics, sunset dolphin cruises, and private movie screenings under the stars. Entertainment is relaxed and nature-focused, with stargazing sessions, live acoustic music, and cultural evenings.
Six Senses Laamu combines luxury with an eco-conscious ethos, offering a peaceful, natural setting where guests can unwind completely or stay active with water sports and wellness activities. It is particularly suited to those who value privacy, barefoot luxury, exceptional food, and a close connection with the Maldivian environment.
