Lessons
Nitrox Course
day(s)
-

Internationally Recognized PADI Certification. Qualifies you to dive to dive on enriched air nitrox up to 40%. The PADI Enriched Air Diver course is PADI’s most popular specialty scuba diving course, and it’s easy to see why. Scuba diving with enriched air nitrox gives you more no decompression dive time. This means more time underwater, especially on repetitive scuba dives. You can typically stay down longer and get back in the water sooner. No wonder many divers choose this as their very first specialty.

Typically when using enriched air divers will get mixes which are either 32% or 36% oxygen, and this makes enriched air ideal for diving at shallower depths. For example, when diving with air to 18 meters/59 feet using the Recreational Dive Planner, you would have a maximum no stop limit of 56 minutes on a single dive. For the same depth, but using a 32% mix of enriched air, you would have a no stop limit of 95 minutes at 18 meters/59 feet. Potentially this means that you would have up to an additional 39 minutes dive time on this profile compared with air, though don’t forget to check your gauges as you will still be breathing through the gas in your cylinder at the same rate.

You will learn techniques for getting more dive time by using enriched air nitrox, enriched air scuba diving equipment considerations, enriched air considerations, including managing oxygen exposure, how to tell what’s in your scuba tank and how to set your dive computer.

Note:

You need to be a certified PADI Open Water Diver (or equivalent certification from another organization).

If you’ve always wanted to take scuba diving lessons, experience unparalleled adventure, and see the world beneath the waves, this is where it starts. Get your scuba diving certification with the PADI Open Water Diver course – the world’s most popular and widely recognized scuba course. Millions of people have learned to scuba dive and gone on to discover the wonders of the aquatic world through this course.

The PADI Open Water Diver course consists of three main phases:

  • Knowledge Development via e-learning self-study or in a classroom at the dive school) to understand basic principles of scuba diving
  • Confined Water Dives to learn basic scuba skills. You’ll complete a total of five confined water sessions (pool or calm shallow open sea) where you’ll learn the basics of scuba diving and build your confidence.
  • Open Water Dives. The four open water dives allow you to demonstrate the skills that you have learned during your pool modules in safe natural environment.

More and more dive centre across the world now require the 'theory' part of the PADI Open Water Course to be complete prior to starting a course in resort, this is referred to as an 'e-learning PADI Open Water Course. Once we have you booked in for your course you will need to follow the e-learning theory course work via the PADI website, prior to arrival. Then when you get to resort, the instructor can focus on the more practical side of the training over a 3-4 day period.

Note:

This course does not include the PADI Open Water E-Learning fee of £155, paid via the PADI website.

To enroll in a PADI Open Water Diver course, you must be 10 years old or older. You need adequate swimming skills and need to be in good physical health. No prior experience with scuba diving is required. Scuba diving can sometimes be a strenuous activity so it is important that you are reasonably fit and in good all-round health. Before you complete scuba diving course involving in-water training, you must complete a medical questionnaire to check that you are fit enough to dive. Should you need a copy of this form please just email or call us. If you are in any doubt about your fitness to dive (for example you have asthma, heart condition, etc) you will be required to get a medical certificate from your doctor prior to the course.

Lessons
Junior PADI Open Water Course (Excl. E Learning and study materials)
day(s)
-

PADI’s Junior Open Water Diver course is similar to the adult certification program and prepares kids to become full-fledged divers when they are of age. Students as young as 10 years old can utilize the eLearning program Open Water Diver course online (minimum age requirements may be higher in some locations due to local laws and regulations). This course allows kids to get their first PADI scuba certification. Children can learn how to scuba dive, discover new adventures, or simply see the wondrous world beneath the waves, this is where it starts.

The PADI Junior Open Water Course is typically run over four days and is a fun-filled course designed to qualify kids to dive to a maximum depth of 12m. The fun part about this course is . . . well, just about all of it because learning to dive is incredible. Kids get to learn to breathe underwater for the first time (something they’ll never forget) and learn what they need to know to become a certified diver. During the course, children will first train in the pool and then get to explore wondrous reefs, under the supervision of a PADI Instructor.

The PADI Junior Open Water Course consists of three main phases:

- Knowledge development to understand basic principles of scuba diving.
- Confined water dives (pool training) to learn basic scuba skills.
- Open water dives to review skills and explore!

In the PADI Junior Open Water Course, children will learn to use basic scuba gear and standard accessories.

Note:

To begin the program, students must be at least 10 years old and be able to swim.

To ensure that young divers don’t exceed their limits, the Junior Open Water certification comes with restrictions. Divers 10-11 years old must dive with a PADI Professional or a certified parent or guardian, and dives cannot exceed 12 meters/40 feet. Divers 12-14 years old must dive with a certified adult and dives cannot exceed 18 meters / 60 feet.

The cost of e-learning and any study material should be paid directly to PADI or the dive school
