Komandoo is located in the north western edge of the Lhaviyani Atoll, nestled between the uninhabited and picture perfect island of Kudadhu on one side, and the local island of Hinnavaru on the other. The dive centre offers excellent facilities and intimate service that caters to beginners and experienced divers and snorkellers alike. All of the boat dives are guided by PADI instructors and the experienced team will help you choose which dive trips are best for you so that you can get the most out of your time on Komandoo.
With over 50 dive sites within close proximity to Komandoo, variety is key and the team tries to ensure that your dives are conducted in an safe manner. The numerous channels around Komandoo provide a mecca for sharks. The rich waters around the Maldives are home to 26 species of sharks, and around Komandoo, schools of grey reef sharks and silver tip sharks are often enjoyed by divers.
The Lhaviyani Atoll is home to one of the Maldives’ largest populations of turtles. Dozens of hawksbill and green sea turtles have been recorded on Komandoo’s House Reef, while the nearby dive site, Kuredu Caves, is home to over 60 resident green sea turtles.
The protected marine area around Kuredu Express has made this dive site one of our most popular sites for certified divers. This unique site is home to sharks, rays, incredible schools of jacks and snappers and is rated as one of the top dive spots in the Maldives.
