The centre is now located in new custom-built premises at the Touristic Harbour El Mina, which is next to the main ferry port and close to the main shopping area. But the best bit is that it's 30 minutes closer to the most popular dive sites such as Abu Nuhas, Thistlegorm and a stone's throw away from Giftun Island. All that you need is now under one roof - the training school, dive centre, shop, liveaboard and day diving offices are together - and you can join us for a relaxing drink or snack on the roof top terrace and take in the fabulous views of Giftun Island.
Because the centre is closer to some of the best dive sites, it means you can enjoy more flexible diving with half-day or one-day boat trips with the centre's new fast boat diving or on the familiar decks of Pegasus or Pharos.

Excursions on water
Amazingly not everyone wants to spend their entire holiday diving! As a result of this astonishing fact, we can offer the following excursions to divers, their families and friends, so that you can spend a day together by the Red Sea enjoying the crystal-clear water. This is a fun and relaxing way to spend a day or two with your non-diving friends or family, often with the chance for you to have a dive at the same time.
Sunset Dinner Cruise: Enjoy the stunning Red Sea sunset and sample the delights of dinner aboard a comfortable cruiser. All food is freshly cooked with a local flavour tailored to Western tastes. You'll be picked up from your hotel and brought to the boat where you can enjoy a range of beer, wine and soft drinks (mineral water is provided free of charge).
Sunset Cruise: Late afternoon and early evening cruise aboard a comfortable, spacious boat. Sip a cool drink and marvel at the view of the sunset over Hurghada and the Red Sea mountains. Your host will offer you a complimentary welcome drink; a range of beer, wine and soft drinks are available to purchase.
Eco Experience (full day): Learn about the Red Sea and its inhabitants on this fun, informative trip for the whole family on a spacious, comfortable boat. Our experienced, qualified guide will entertain you with a short welcome/safety briefing before explaining the three different sites where you can snorkel, swim or just visit on the boat. You will get advice on good snorkelling techniques and then snorkel three reefs with something different to see on each. Between your dips in the water you will also have interesting and fun explanations of the Red Sea eco-system, information on conservation and be able to take part in a 'fish spotting' competition. Plus the chance to have a 'try dive' in full scuba gear for a small supplement.
DIVE SPOTS
Our extensive fleet of dive boats offer great value and cover all the main routes offering wrecks, reefs, dolphins and sharks! Your dive guides will take you to the best sites and share with you their passion and knowledge - and give some of the most informative dive briefings!
Some interesting dive spots in Hurghada:
Shab El Erg
The most northerly site for day boats out of Hurghada. A huge horseshoe shaped reef offering many dive sites on all sides. The north point can be home to Mantas in season. The lagoon is dotted with ergs and is renowned for sightings of the resident dolphin community, divers have previously spent up to 30 minutes with dolphins here.
Gota Shab El Erg
Nearby is a little known site but well worth a visit. The whole area teems with life, unicorns, scorpion fish, groupers, morays, emperor angel fish, blue spotted rays and underneath the table corals look out for white tips resting in the sand. In the sandy channel between the main reef and the gota you will find cone shells, and flatfish.
Careless Reef
An offshore reef Careless has two large ergs rising from a shallow plateau surrounded by sheer walls rising from the deep. The area is unprotected and the reef can only be reached in good weather. The current at the surface is usually from the north but below it can come from any direction. To the north, the drop off is a forest of coral and to the south the plateau slopes gently away with small pinnacles of coral. The whole area swarms with fish of all types, there are numerous giant morays encountered here, white tip reef sharks and schooling reef fish as well as huge groupers and the occasional hammerhead in the early morning.
Wreck of the El Minya (Harbour Wreck)
An Egyptian minesweeper sunk by Israeli fighters while lying at anchor in 1969, this wreck lies in 30m on a rock sea bed. The current here can be strong from the north and the visibility poor. There is a large debris field which contains a lot of 'LIVE" munitions, worth a look, but carefully. The wreck is only 70m long so there is plenty of time to explore everything including the blast hole on the starboard side, which can be penetrated. Penetration is not recommended elsewhere on this wreck. There is not much in the way of coral growth on the wreck but it does have its resident fish life. The blast hole gives shelter to shoals of glassfish and a lone anemone and resident clownfish are also in this area. Above the wreck are shoals of jacks and small barracuda.
Shab Sabrina
The reef here pokes out from the eastern side of Giftun Kebira island and has a coral garden extending 300-400m north of it. The best way to dive this site is on the drift, dropping 300m out and using the gentle current to make your way back to the boat mooring. This area is known for its beautiful coral landscape rather than its fish life.
Gota Abu Ramada
This area is commonly known as 'the Aquarium' due to the wealth of marine life. There is an abundance of hard and soft coral and schools of butterfly fish, banner fish, snappers and goatfish are found swimming around the mountains of coral gardens. You will find that dives at Gota will make you feel like you are swimming in a marvelous natural fish tank!
El Aruk Gigi
A cluster of a seven ergs laying in 10m - 15m of water. The whole area is home to sweetlips under the ledges, blue spotted sting rays in the sandy patches and glassfish and anthia fish swarm on the erg wall. One erg to note is the split erg, which has a grotto through it filled with glassfish, attendant red mouth grouper and numerous lionfish.
Abu Hashish
A shallow erg field lays on the south side of the island where lots of blue spotted stingrays, puffer fishes and morays are found swimming through a pinnacle landscape. A dramatic drift dive can be made along the eastern wall with the chance to see big fish out in the blue.
CLIMATE
The diving season is year-round with visibility averaging 30m. Water temperatures range from 20ºC in the winter months to 29ºC in summer. From May to September, the air temperature ranges between 38ºC and 41°C, and from October through to April between 23ºC and 29°C. From December to February, the nights can be quite cold, but in the summer the nights are warm. July and August are the hottest months. In winter, there can often be a breeze.
Divers can use LYCRA, DARLEX or POLARTEC suits during late spring, summer and early autumn. During winter, a 5mm two-piece suit is best and for the evenings, a light sweater or jacket is recommended.
