Overview Of Vilamendhoo Island Resort

Vilamendhoo Island Resort is located in Alifu (South Ari) Atoll, around thirty-five minutes by Seaplane from the international airport in Male. The island's lush tropical interior is encircled by white sandy beaches and fringing reef. Vilamendhoo sits in a channel opening on the Atoll wall and the passing currents formed a beautiful sandbar on which Vilamendhoo recently added ever popular over water villas.

Accommodation At Vilamendhoo Island Resort

Vilamendhoo Island Resort has 184 comfortable rooms. All feature tropical decor, a king size or two twin beds, wood or tile floors, partially open-air bathroom with double sinks, a rain shower and private terrace. Each has air-conditioning and overhead ceiling fan They have a sitting area and small refrigerator, DVD/CD player and TV, broadband Internet.

Jacuzzi Water Villas

30 villas located on stilts over the water connected to the island by a wooden walk way. Good sized wooden floored bedroom featuring an iPod docking station/sound tower; a tea/coffee/espresso machine; a spacious, partially open-air bathroom with double sinks, a private, walled-in outdoor area featuring a Jacuzzi for two “under the stars”, a wooden sundeck with chaise lounges, a shade umbrella, tropical plants,a private sundeck with stairs into the sea and magnificent views (85 sqm)

Jacuzzi Beach Villas

30 spacious (65 sqm), with wood floor, an iPod docking station, a private, walled-in outdoor area garden with Jacuzzi for two, a wooden sundeck with chaise lounges, a shade umbrella, tropical plants and a beautiful view of the lagoon

Beach Villas

111 villas with easy access to the sea. A little smaller than the Jacuzzi Beach Villas (55 sqm) with tile floor and no Jacuzzi nor sundeck

Garden Rooms

Just 13 rooms the same as the Beach Villas (55sqm) but located in the garden, not on the beach. They are in 3 blocks of 4 or 5 rooms, and have a privacy screen between each room.

Vilamendhoo Island Resort caters for and welcome families of all ages.Vilamendhoo's Family Plan makes for a more affordable holiday.

The Beach Villas accommodate two adults and two children, so no need to rent a second Villa just for the children.Children can have their own beds. Baby cots are provided for infants.

Vilamendhoo is a relatively large island so there is plenty of space for the children to be themselves without disturbing anyone else. Meals are served “all you can eat” buffet style so there is plenty of variety to please children’s tastes. The Chef will accommodate special dietary requests.

Near the Boashi Bar Pool, there is a children’s wading pool. Boashi Bar offers an ice cream and snack menu. There is also a complete Excursion Program. Fun nighttime activities include crab races, a cultural dance show and a Maldives culture and marine conservation slide show.

There is lots of good snorkeling in the lagoon. The Dive Center teaches a children’s introductory SCUBA course. Babysitting services are available. For the convenience of our guests, there is a medical clinic and Resident Doctor at Vilamendhoo.
