Dining At Baros

In the splendour of three restaurants and two bars, in-villa, or anywhere on the island or even on a sandbank, the Piano Deck over the lagoon, or during a dhoni cruise, the dedicated food & beverage team of the kitchens, restaurants and bars of Baros Maldives are on hand to spoil guests with splendid service and fine food and wines.

The Lighthouse Restaurant

The Lighthouse Restaurant is the hallmark of Baros Maldives, an over-water pavilion with a white sail pinnacle roof that serves as an iconic beacon visible long before the island comes into view. It has been acclaimed as one of the best restaurants in the whole of the Maldives. For guests it is a wonderful experience to sit on The Lighthouse deck above the Indian Ocean while rays and fishes swim below, enjoying the memorable moments of a gourmet dinner. At The Lighthouse, every meal is one to remember. Good food is complemented by fine wine selected from the sommelier’s inspired choice of wines from the restaurant’s glass-walled, walk-in, temperature controlled wine cellar.

The Lounge on the gallery above the Lighthouse Restaurant is best place on Baros Maldives for a sundowner in an atmosphere of elegance. The view from the gallery over the lagoon are complemented by seamless service of drinks and snacks. There is a wide choice of Champagnes and cocktails, served with canapés, and the finest wines. Every Friday the Lighthouse Lounge features a dazzling evening of smooth Jazz and Blues by a talented band of Maldivian musicians.

The Cayenne Grill

With palm-thatched gazebos for dining above the lagoon, the Cayenne Grill is the place for a light lunch from a wood-fired pizza oven as well as salads, wraps, paninis, and for combination platters of grills of the world: Teppanyaki and Tandoori. The Cayenne Grill features prime quality meat as well as fish freshly caught by local fishermen, all cooked to perfection by master chefs in the open kitchen.

Lime Restaurant

Located right by the lagoon, the contemporarily styled Lime Restaurant offers Asian-influenced cuisine served to guests relaxing at tables on a spacious deck above the waves. Lime is open for a superb buffet breakfast with action stations and sparkling wine, and for salads, snacks, tea, lunch, dinner and family favourites throughout the day. Light and healthy snacks and beverages are served beside the infinity swimming pool set in a wooden deck over the lagoon at Lime, with an impressive view over the blue lagoon and spectacular Maldivian sunsets.

The Sails Bar

The Sails Bar is situated in the heart of the island, in The Palm Garden, shaded by venerable palm trees creating a unique tropical atmosphere. There are daybeds and hammocks for relaxing while enjoying the lagoon view and partaking in high tea or sipping signature cocktails, freshly squeezed juices or premium beverages as time drifts by. In the evening, the romantically-lit open-sided cocktail bar has a wide choice of aperitifs, spirits, wine, liqueurs and digestives. Twice a week local bands play music for easy listening.

Destination Dining

Although Baros Maldives is isolated in the Indian Ocean, fine dining in style is the resort’s hallmark. At Baros Maldives, guests are not limited to standard menus and meal times. There are several culinary experiences to enjoy both on and off shore for a romantic dining interlude.

Diving At Baros

Exploring the underwater life can be experienced throughout the Maldives islands, but Baros Maldives Resort is unique as an underwater destination for several reasons: it has two centres devoted to diving and exploring the sea: The Dive Centre and the separate Marine Centre.

The resort has a stunning house reef full of spectacular marine life just a few strokes from the beach and there are 30 world class dive spots within 50 minutes by boat. At the Dive Centre guests can learn not only scuba diving, but also participate in Eco Diving at the EcoDive Centre, which is the first in the Maldives Islands.

At the separate Marine Centre, guests can borrow snorkelling gear free of charge, join guided snorkelling excursions, obtain information and take part in awareness programmes conducted by the resident marine biologist. Maldives Island Resorts don’t come any better than Baros Maldives!

Experiences At Baros

A holiday at Baros Maldives is a wonderful opportunity to discover more about the Maldives, whether sharing an experience with other guests or on a personalised tour for two especially arranged by the guest experiences team.

The different excursions include voyaging on Nooma, a traditional handcrafted Maldivian sailing dhoni, or a cruise on Serenity, a modern luxury motor yacht. It is also possible to get away from it all by spending the day, or having dinner, on an isolated sandbank in the middle of the ocean. As an experience for married couples, a special Maldivian Renewal of Vows ceremony can be arranged. The Piano Deck, a small wooden deck shaped like a grand piano and poised above the translucent lagoon, is a unique location for a celebration.

Set in the heart of the resort, hidden within lush foliage, the Spa at Baros Maldives Resort specialises in personalised treatment for guests’ needs with massages to soothe the mind and nourish the body, as well as therapies from all over Asia and a variety of cosmetic products. Enhanced by its setting of a tropical garden, with flowing water creating a relaxing, serene atmosphere the Spa inspires contentment.
