The Medemia pool deck is perfectly situated at the edge of the lodge offering unobstructed sea views and a café bar to guarantee you’re all set for a relaxed day. Jump into our infinity pool and float like you’re right in the middle of the ocean, just with a cocktail in hand. The pool rooms are only a few meters away if you’d like a ground-floor terrace & an impeccable view.
The lodge has been artfully built by local masons from repurposed fossilised coral limestone. Every room is intricately decorated with local crafts & curated artwork. With just 49 rooms including 3 suites, every room offers you a beautiful & spacious interior featuring an en suite & a direct sea-view terrace or balcony.
THE REEFS - This coastline boasts 700m of fringe reef, beyond which are deep blue waters. With 2 piers from the shore, experience the unique thriving habitat of the Red Sea just meters away from your room. Head off to the outstanding dive sites, laze on the sandy beach or explore the fringing reefs at shallow waters ?— the Red sea is a playground for snorkelers, loungers and divers of all skill levels.
RESTAURANT & BAR - Set on the highest point of our valley (wadi), Tamarisk, the restaurant and bar, offers a promenade with an unbeatable view. The daily menus are designed to provide a culinary experience that gives you a window into the DNA of Egypt and its vast cuisine. Overlooking the dunes of the Eastern desert on one side & the sea and our botanical gardens on the other, sit back & take in the natural beauty of our breathtaking location. From the blood moons rising to the rough seas crashing on the reef below, have a drink or a snack as you unwind.
LIBRARY & ART ROOM - Immerse yourself in the surrounding beauty by exploring Karen’s Living Room, the extensive library that holds both modern & ancient literature, local artefacts, guides and classics on Egyptian history, nature conservation, geology and more. Discover the importance of the region, both in present & ancient times. Explore how before the motorboat, the Southern Red Sea provided traders with an alternative to the dangerous winds that threw ships onto reefs, or how trade routes through the Eastern Desert to the Nile Valley allowed the flow of goods from Asia and East Africa to the Empires that dominated Europe since antiquities. Through the library or just sharing experiences with other guests, we hope Karen’s Living Room will provide you with an environment to understand our place on this planet.
YOGA - Sessions are held at several locations throughout the property, coupled with a quiet policy (no constant loud music or animation teams);’ this is a perfect destination for wellness seekers. A 2-minute walk on the beach will take you to ‘Oasis Shala’, a beautiful secluded indoor/outdoor space with stone walls, facing the sea directly and can hold up to 20 yogis at a time. They can also help you plan a sunrise or sunset practice in the desert as part of a safari excursion right in our backyard in the Eastern Desert.
Upon request, daily yoga sessions can be arranged with the resident yoga instructor Gosia. Gosia has practiced yoga since 2006 and teaching since 2017. In her classes, she combines all elements of yoga practice like meditation, pranayama, asana and relaxation. She teaches traditional yoga with elements of kundalini, hatha, vinyasa and restorative and is also a certified meditation teacher.

GARDENS - Created as a small wildlife paradise, our unique garden is a guide through Egyptian wild flora, where almost every plant has been used in traditional medicine & has economic value supporting the life of the local nomads inhabiting the Egyptian deserts. The garden was created in 2017 in cooperation with Dr. Irina Springuel, a former professor at the Aswan University, who resides most of the year at Wadi Sabarah. She will be happy to guide you through more than 2000 plants with over 40 local species.
