Top 4 most exotic dive holiday destinations of 2018

Exotic tropical waters that offer the avid diver a true escape from busy life is exactly what we at Planet Dive Holidays have found. Here are our top 4 exotic dive holiday destinations for 2018.

Raja Ampat, Indonesia
The Raja Ampat archipelago lies in the heart of the coral triangle which is the most bio-diverse marine region on earth making it a perfect playground for scientists, photographers and avid divers alike.  Raja Ampat has the highest biodiversity of both fish and coral species.
The Raja Ampat islands offer some of the most breathtaking diving opportunities and the marine tourism plays a key role in the conservation of Raja Ampat’s spectacular underwater world.
Misool Island is one of the larger islands in the archipelago of Raja Ampat and is home to the incredible Misool Eco Resort. The cottages are built with comfort and luxury in mind. Misool was built entirely of reclaimed tropical hardwoods that were milled on site with their own portable sawmill. The stunning Water Cottages have been built on stilts over the water to enjoy stunning views of the lagoon. The view from the veranda is framed by a traditional grass roof and offers perfect privacy and a place to relax after some great diving.
Pemba Island, Tanzania
Pemba Island is an untouched gem off the coast of Tanzania that offers some of the most superb diving in the world. Pemba is one of the very few places left in the world where you can truly feel like an underwater explorer. The untouched coral reefs surrounding the island make these waters a divers dream come true.
The island is also a perfect place to learn to dive with some of the healthiest coral reefs in the Indian Ocean, a water temperature averaging at 26ºC and incredible visibility of 30-40 meters almost every day.
An absolutely idyllic resort located on Pemba is The Manta Resort which offers privacy, adventure and amazing diving. Now make your underwater dream come true by staying in the Manta Resorts Underwater Room. The floating structure which was Swedish engineered has three different levels. The lowest level allows you the opportunity to fall asleep surrounded by the magical underwater world of the surrounding island.
Maldives, Indian Ocean
The Maldives is well known for stunning white-sand beaches and azure waters but it is the world beneath the water that attracts divers from all over the world. The Maldives boasts an abundance of incredible coral reefs and a huge array of marine life.

The best diving sites are found amongst the atolls that make up the Maldives.  Under the ocean is where you find many different underwater pinnacles, known as thilas, which attract large schools of fish, as well as other large marine species.
This stunning St Regis Vommuli is perfectly tucked away on a distant private island and is the great getaway for families, honeymooners or single diving enthusiasts. This stunning resort is the epitome of a luxury island paradise with stunning overwater villas that are serviced by a private butler and also offers a world-class spa. The Vommuli dive centre has everything you need for your dive adventure in the incredible Maldivian waters.
Sal, Cape Verde

The Cape Verde islands are a small collection of islands in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean just 1,500 km south of the Canary Islands and 450 km off the western coast of Senegal.  One of the best islands for diving that make up this chain is Sal, a diver’s paradise with many wrecks to explore and rich tropical underwater flora and fauna.

With few coral reefs, the underwater topography is mostly volcanic lava ridges, pinnacles and boulders. Divers enjoying the waters of Sal will be happy to find a massive array of fish and marine animals including shoals of rockfish and bream, dolphins, turtles and sharks.

The locally owned and run Morebeza Hotel based at the stunning Santa Maria Beach is an ideal place to stay during your diving holiday in Sal. The hotel is perfectly located in a small village quarter full of trees and flowers. Morabeza means welcome in the local Creole language and that is exactly how you’ll feel at this family-run establishment. The newly refurbished rooms have direct access to the beach and are naturally cooled and well ventilated by trade winds which offer relief from the tropical sun.
