The best luxury hotels for learning to dive

You might call us a little biased here at Planet Dive Holidays but we think there are few pleasures in life that can equal learning to dive. After all, short of becoming an astronaut, how often do you get the chance to learn skills that let you explore an entirely new world? But there is one thing we think can top learning to scuba dive. And that’s learning to scuba dive while staying in a luxury hotel. During the days you’ll be strapping on a tank and learning all the skills you need to explore the sea bed, reefs, caves and more. Then with the rest of your day and in the evenings, you can enjoy some pampering in the spa, sip cocktails by the pool or sample haute cuisine in a fine dining restaurant. Ready to start all over again the next day.

If the above sounds appealing – and we’re fairly sure that it does – then take a look at our favourite luxury hotels for learning to dive.

Dive and swim in the calm lagoon or hang out on a choice of beaches before venturing out to explore one of the many islands dotted off the north coast of Mauritius. Thirtyseven, Gozo

The best things often come in small packages, and this is certainly true of the boutique accommodation on offer at Thirtyseven Gozo. Set in small and charming village just a short drive from some of the best dive sites in Gozo, this is one of the best luxury dive locations in Europe. Even though the Thirtyseven offers high-end accommodation, it’s not necessarily matched by the price. Each one of the ten luxury rooms is great value for money, and with a choice of pools and lounges, and a real personal touch, it comes highly recommended. Gozo provides a variety of interesting dive sites that are easily accessible to beginners and some of the best centres for children that also want to learn to dive.
