Manta Ray Season is from May to October and Hanifaru Bay, the UNESCO World Biosphere Reserve, is one of the best places to see them which is located only a short boat ride away from Milaidhoo. It’s also possible to see whale sharks in Hanifaru, and Milaidhoo run three excursions there per week (depending on the weather conditions) to try and see the amazing marine animals.
It is also possible to arrange private excursions with Milaidhoo’s resident marine biologists for those who wish to learn more about marine life in the Maldives and the various conservation projects being run by the resort. There is also a ‘Be a Marine Biologist’ program where clients can shadow one of the biologists while they work and see some of their day-to-day efforts in maintaining the beautiful ecosystem.
