The best luxury dive destinations

The best luxury dive destinations are those that offer the complete package – superb visibility, incredible marine life, great weather and the indulgent hospitality you expect from a luxury holiday. If you’re unwilling to compromise on the above, there are only a few places you can have it all on the same trip.

We’re going to take a closer look at three of the most luxurious dive destinations on the planet. Places where sparkling azure waters are home to dazzlingly colourful fish. And when
you get out of the water and take off your tank, you’ll experience a life of luxury.

The Maldives

Think about the perfect, picture-postcard tropical island. The reality of the Maldives more or less fits the bill to perfection. White sandy beaches line glistening lagoons filled with crystal clear waters. Head under the surface and you’ll discover a world of colourful coral reefs, with many of the dive sites offering the chance to see elusive species such as the whale shark and manta rays. There are some top all-inclusive options for families (because not everyone loves to dive as much as we do). And all of the resorts and liveaboards we offer have been carefully selected by our team as the very best of the bunch.

Apart from the tropical paradise both over and under the water, diving in the Maldives is particularly special because of the sheer range of dive sites. Diving is year-round, with good
visibility at most times, although May through to September is considered the best period. We particularly recommend the Northern Atolls including Raa, Shaviyana and Noonu, but
the central atolls of North Male and South Male, and Southern Atolls, also have huge appeal.

Mauritius

Another tropical paradise to rival the Maldives, Mauritius is ringed by dive sites, with some of the best along the north-west coast. It’s a perfect dive destination for beginners, with
more challenging dives for experienced divers including wrecks and drift dives. Out of the water, Mauritius is equally as beautiful. A real melting pot of cultural influences including French, Portuguese, Dutch, Arabian and British, it’s truly unique. Expect fabulous food and stunning accommodation all topped off with a warm welcome. Direct flights from the UK and only a three-hour time difference make it a very accessible.

Oman

A direct seven-hour flight from the UK means Oman is easy to reach. It’s a very safe, modern and friendly place, with a growing and exciting tourism industry. But get there before the secret gets out to really enjoy this enigmatic corner of the Arabian Peninsula.

The uncrowded waters are home to a huge array of marine life, which is the real appeal for diving holidays. You can dive the remote Hallaniyat Islands, and the wrecks of the British
warship the City of Winchester. Experience humpback and blue whales up close, or head out on a liveaboard to discover even more of the coastline. Back on land, there’s also a choice of superb luxury accommodation available.
