  • Day 1

    Colombo

Hotel: 4* Galle Face Hotel, Sri Lanka Bed&Breakfast

Upon arrival at the airport you will enjoy the VIP arrival service at the Colombo International Airport. You will be privately escorted off the aeroplane to the silk route lounge where you can relax, enjoy the refreshments while your luggage will be cleared through customs on your behalf. Free wifi will be available and you will meet your chauffeur / national guide at the lounge. VIP exit to your vehicle through a separate door.

Transfer to Colombo and check in at one of the most historic hotels in Asia. This is the oldest hotel east of Suez, established in 1864 with a full refurbishment done in 2016. This is listed as one of the “1000 Places to Stay Before You Die” in the book of the same name which was a New York Times bestseller. You will be staying in an Oceanic Balcony Junior Suite which has an interconnecting Superior room with 3 single beds for the children.

Upon arrival you will check into the rooms and you can treat yourself to the complimentary “Couple’s Spa Package” which includes a full body treatment for the both of you at the in-house spa with L’Occitane En Provence products. This will be an amazing way to relax after your long journey.

After settling in, visit the Gangaramaya Temple where your whole family will be blessed by a Buddhist monk with a sacred thread which will be wrapped around your wrists. Witness the hair relics of Lord Buddha enshrined at the temple along with the smallest Buddha statue in the world. The entire temple is a living museum with collections from all around the world.

The Sapumal Foundation is one of the best-kept secrets in the country. Don’t be surprised to have this entire art gallery, all to yourself. This quick visit will give you an idea as to how a group of individuals in Colombo got together to change the country as they saw it through their various talents in Art, Architecture and Writing skills. Explore this amazing collection of best preserved original paintings in the country. You will not see a better collection anywhere else on the island. Spend around 30 minutes at this colonial house.

High Tea will be served at the Galle Face Hotel (between 4 – 6 pm) where you will enjoy the breathtaking views from the Verandah restaurant which sits at the edge of the Indian Ocean. For more than a century and a half, the High Tea at Galle Face Hotel has been where adventurers, authors, generals and world leaders have sat at this very location sipping Ceylon tea.

Tonight a table will be reserved for dinner at the iconic Gallery Café, a semi-fine dining outdoor café and the number one location in Colombo for dinner. This used to be the former office complex of the world renowned Sri Lankan architect – the late Geoffrey Bawa. The open-air dining area looks over an intimate courtyard and reflecting pool. The Sri Lankan– inspired dishes focus on fresh ingredients and bold, clean flavours. Desserts focus on chocolate.

Return back to the hotel and once the children are tucked into the beds, you can take a 2-minute drive to the Kingsbury Hotel, where the Sky Lounge at the rooftop offers one of the best places for cigars, premium champagne and signature molecular cocktails with accompanying music.

  • Day 2

    Adam's Peak

Hotel: 4* Palmstone Retreat, Sri Lanka Half Board

After breakfast at the hotel, check out of Galle Face and drive to Kitulgala. Lunch will be at Borderlands and you will enjoy some white water rafting in the afternoon.

After coming off the slopes of Adam’s Peak, the clear waters of the Kelani River wind their way through the Hill Country of inland Sri Lanka before emptying into the Indian Ocean. The put in for rafting is just upstream from Kithulgala, a small town in the tea country. After a safety briefing and a few pointers on rafting technique, jump right into the action. Seven high quality, class II and III rapids and temperate waters make the Kelani a premier introduction to the sport of whitewater or an exciting choice for experienced rafters. The river hosts rapids between grades 2 and 3, with the rafting stretch approximately 6.5 kilometres in length, and taking between 45 minutes to 1.5 hours to complete, depending on water levels.

Dinner will be at the hotel.

  • Day 3

    Canyoning

Hotel: 4* Palmstone Retreat, Sri Lanka Half Board

After breakfast, engage in some canyoning with Borderlands. The trip begins with a short jungle hike up to the canyons through the rainforest. From here, cover a few ground rules in a safety briefing and then hop right in — literally. As you make your way down the canyons, jump into plunge pools and wade across small “potholes” - the best and only way to experience the stony canyons features carved by rushing water over many thousands of years! There are even a few “waterslides” along the way! During this adventure you’ll face several thrilling challenges. This is fun, fun, fun and is consistently one of the most popular adventure activities in Kithulgala.

Lunch will be at Borderlands. In the evening enjoy another session of white water rafting or engage in some mountain biking.

Dinner will be at the hotel.

  • Days 4 - 5

    Little Adam's Peak

Hotel: 4* 98 Acres Resort and Spa, Sri Lanka Full Board

After breakfast check out of the hotel and drive to Ella. The Little Adam's Peak got its name after its big brother, the holy mountain Adam`s Peak, because of the similar shape. The path up the hill to Little Adam's Peak is easy to find and is marked by signs showing the way next to the 98 Acres Resort, to the right of the white Buddah. The beginning of the path goes through beautiful lush green tea plantations full of tea picking ladies. The Little Adam's Peak, 1141 m high, is fairly easy to climb, with a good path all the way up. The hike will take about 2-3 hours in total.

  • Days 6 - 7

    Yala National Park

Hotel: 4* Wild Coast Tented Lodge, Sri Lanka All Inclusive

After breakfast check out of the hotel and drive to Yala. Take a jeep ride in the Yala National Park in search of the elusive leopards, sloth bears, wild elephants, wild boar, Sambur deer, spotted deer, water Buffalo and many bird species. The park is one of the best places in the world to see leopards. Early morning and late in the afternoon are the best times to settle in for some leopard and bear sightings.

  • Day 8

    Galle Fort

Hotel: 4* Amangalla, Sri Lanka Bed & Breakfast

After breakfast check out of the hotel and drive to Galle Fort. Lunch will be en route.
