Oman<\/a> is quickly becoming one of our favourite diving destinations. Exotic and stunningly untouched, both on land and under the sea, it makes for a truly adventurous diving holiday.<\/p>\n

Oman offers excellent diving spots from Musandam<\/a> in the north to Dhofar<\/a> in the south and the incredible underwater landscapes around Muscat<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Muscat<\/h5>\n

Divers of all experience levels will love the dive sites that are accessible from Muscat. The diving in this area is very well established and boasts over forty incredible dive sites.<\/p>\n

The currents here are few and the dives range in depth from 10 to 30 meters. The plankton-rich waters attract a large amount of marine life, which includes many of the large pelagic species.<\/p>\n

The Sifawy Boutique Hotel<\/a> and the Sifawy dive centre<\/a> offers two dives in the morning and additionally, another dive in the afternoon and regular day trips are often planned. The dive boats leave from the hotel’s own marina.<\/p>\n

Dhofar<\/h5>\n

This Dhofar Coast in the south of Oman is an ideal diving holiday destination during the cold European winter. Most of the dive sites along this coastline are shallow and it is great for divers that are looking for long relaxed dives that offer loads to see.<\/p>\n

Diving is pretty much undiscovered here and therefore the corals are pristine and untouched. Marine life is typically Indo-Pacific offering a variety of larger species like turtles, rays and moray eels.<\/p>\n

There are also three wrecks that are over 100 years old and are fully overgrown with corals. The dive centre at Mirbat<\/a> offers at least two dives a day from either the beach or boat. The centre offers scuba diving courses from beginner’s courses to Divemaster training and are offered in German, English, Italian and Arabic.<\/p>\n

Musandam<\/h5>\n

The exotic Musandam peninsula is separated from the rest of Oman by a stretch of the United Arab Emirates. The coastline has been carved into spectacular fjord-like valleys.<\/p>\n

The underwater scenery is just as impressive with incredible drop-offs and an amazing diversity of corals. The combination of plankton and strong currents has attracted over 900 species of fish, ranging from cleaner wrasse through to whale sharks and both manta and eagle rays.<\/p>\n

The Zighy Bay Dive Centre<\/a> is located on the beach and offers both scuba diving courses as well as rentals. The training takes place in modern classrooms and in the hotel pool or open water for more advanced courses.<\/p>\n

Oman liveaboards<\/h5>\n

One of the best ways to explore the Oman coastline is aboard the Oman Aggressor<\/a>. This 148ft yacht has a maximum capacity of 22 guests and sails the coastline from Muscat\u2019s Daymaniyat Islands to the Musandam Peninsula and down to the Hallaniyat Islands in Dhofar.<\/p>\n
