It is often difficult to choose between the Boa Vista and Sal island in Cape Verde as they both have such a unique charm. The solution: don't choose, do both! By using a short 45-minute hop overflight, this can make for a super holiday mixing the lively vibrant island of Sal with the quiet and beautiful remoteness of Boa Vista.

This is your chance to experience the two most popular islands in the archipelago, in search of sand, sea and sunshine. What better way to get to know the beautiful sandy islands of Sal and Boa Vista than by embarking on a dual-island holiday?

  • Days 1 - 7

    Visiting Sal

Hotel: 4* Morabeza Hotel, Sal Bed & Breakfast

Arrive Sal Island in Cape Verde Islands. For the first 6 nights you will staying in a hotel right on the main Santa Maria beach. There is a windsurf, kitesurf and diving school right next to the hotel. Sal is mostly a beach resort with some of the best windsurf, kitesurf and diving facilities of all the islands, apart from Boa Vista. The beach of Santa Maria has a good choice of nice small but good hotels. The town offers a few nice spots to eat out and a couple of bars that get quite lively from Thursday to Sunday.

Enjoy the crystal-clear waters and soft golden sands of Santa Maria or explore the assortment of water sports and the vibrant atmosphere of the town, sampling tasty local and international cuisine at a variety of restaurants. And, each day, the pier comes alive with local fishermen bringing in their catch of the day to sell to locals and tourists alike. Heading away from the beach, explore the salt flats at Pedra de Lume and float in the water, or head to the natural swimming pools and underwater caves at Buracano for a quick dip or to witness the beautiful ‘Blue Eye’.

  • Days 7 - 13

    Visiting Boa Vista

Hotel: 4* Spinguera Eco Lodge, Boa Vista Bed & Breakfast

Early morning flight from Sal Island to Boa Vista Island for 5 nights in your hotel. This privately owned lovely little property is perfectly positioned a short walk from the town of Sal Ria and also right next to the main windsurf / kitesurf / SUP centre.

Boa Vista island has the most stunning beaches to be found on the islands and is less developed that Sal in terms of tourism. Like Sal, there are some first-class windsurf, kitesurf and diving facilities with a better range for conditions from very flat to big waves. Boa Vista has some beautiful small villages to visit as part of a day tour around the island.

Boa Vista’s ever-changing landscapes are sculpted by the wind. Saharan-like oases are dotted around the interior and depending on the time of year, loggerhead turtles can be spotted laying their eggs on the beaches. Quad biking along the sand is a fantastic experience, or head north to visit the Cabo Santa Maria shipwreck. The rolling white dunes of the Viana Desert are also worth exploring, but the real draw here is to relax on the uncrowded miles of bright white sand, listening to the waves roll in.

The hotel is located on the beautiful Santa Maria Beach on the southern most part of the island of Sal, Cape Verde. It is like a small village quarter full of trees and flowers. Morabeza means welcome in the local Creole language. And that's exactly how you'll feel at this family-run old-timer. It started life over 40 years ago as a private fami...

The eco lodge has a choice of rooms to accommodate all tastes, though each room can only accommodate 2 adults, and children. There are 10 rooms, and 2 Villas, each with a kitchen and large bathroom. All accommodation has sea views. They have Standard rooms, Superior rooms, Apartments, and Villas.
- Fly in day trip to Fago Island to visit the Volcano

The crater on Fogo is one of the highlights of Cape Verde and has created what is a very fertile land; coffee is grown on the outside slopes whilst the vines used to produce the famous Fogo wine are grown inside the crater. We highly recommend you try both. The scenery on Fogo is impressive: dark rocks and black sands give an impression of a lunar landscape. Sao Filipe, the capital of Fogo is a pretty town full of Portuguese squares, cobbled streets and sobrados, pastel houses decorated with quality woods and tiles from Portugal. The views from the promenade are of the island of Brava and a severe drop down to the black sands below. Visitors to Fogo tend to embark on a hike up the volcano with a rewarding lunch at the top in a restaurant offering magnificent views.

- Fly in day trip to Sao Vicente

Sao Vicente is home to some of Cape Verde's greatest musicians, writers and thinkers. Generally considered the cultural hub of the island, Mindelo is proud of its rich tradition of music and art and has a vibrant nightlife with a lively buzz of music throughout the pubs, restaurants and nightclubs. If you're looking for culture and a traditional experience then Sao Vicente will not disappoint. A 1-2 day fly-in visit to this island from Sal or Boa Vista makes a nice addition to your holiday if you have the time.

You can also get a ferry from here to Santo Antao allowing a full day visit to explore here.
