This superb diver center is located inside the 5-star-hotel Movenpick Resort El Quseir. The well-maintained hotel complex with its renowned customer service is situated close to a fantastic, truly unmatched house reef. The centre offer both SSI and PADI course, although their preferenece is for SSI. Try-out dives and special diving courses for children from age 8 are offered as well. Complimentary Nitrox for certified Nitrox divers. PADI instructors can be booked with a supplement of around £100
Parts of the house reef grow up into the bathing zone off the beach. Initially, the reef drops from 5 to 13 meters, at times reaching even depths of 100 meters and more. Thanks to its early recognition as a regional ecologic highlight, the house reef has always been treated with respect and in a sustainable way. Zodiacs with silent and ecofriendly 4-stroke engines are available by the jetty for house reef transfers. After the diving, nearby “Divers” bar is the place to be for a topside “deco stop” and chatting with your fellow divers with refreshing drinks in hand.
The sensational house reef offers remarkable underwater encounters all year round! Scuba divers can expect a splendour of rich coral growth and numbers of fish that are rather rare these days in the Red Sea. Not only clownfishes and other usual suspects but large batfishes, sea moths (pegasus), ghost pipefishes and house moray Erna call this place home. From time to time, whale sharks, dolphins and manta rays make an approach and surprise divers. Also smaller and larger caves make for interesting discoveries. Diving on the house reef is conducted in a sustainable way, thus the number of divers per day is limited (we suggest reservations in advance.)
However, there is no shortage of alternative options with daily half-day and full-day minibus (van) trips as well as speed boat trips to about 30 spots around El Quseir, Marsa Alam and off southern Safaga. Depending on weather/sea conditions and number of participants, day boat trips to highlights such as Elphinstone Reef (from Port Ghalib) and to the Salem Express (from Safaga) are also available. Divers and non-divers alike are welcome to join the trips all the time.
