Overview Of Londolozi Game Reserve
Londolozi’s powerful combination of geography and wildlife creates the famous atmosphere that returning guests call the ‘Londolozi feeling’. Londolozi is situated on the Sand River in the very heart of the Sabi Sand Game Reserve. This reserve forms part of the Greater Limpopo Transfrontier Park, a vast and growing area that currently covers six million acres and incorporates the famous Kruger National Park. Wild animals move freely across this vast space, offering spectacular game viewing and a true wilderness experience.
Accommodation At Londolozi Game Reserve
Each of the five exquisite Londolozi camps offers luxury accommodations, stunning views, and exceptional cuisine.
All camps offer the same access to 34,000 acres of the best Big Five game viewing in Africa, led by some of the continent’s finest rangers and trackers. The camps vary in price according to the quality of the accommodation.
The Private Granite Suites are the crème de la crème of the Londolozi portfolio, followed closely by Pioneer Camp and Tree Camp. Children under the age of 16 are not allowed at Tree Camp and the Private Granite Suites unless these camps have been reserved for exclusive use.
Pioneer Camp can be booked by families and couples alike. Varty Camp and Founders Camp are slightly larger and perfect for families and small groups. These camps accept children of six years and older. Families can request interlinked ‘skywalk’ rooms so parents and children can visit each other without venturing out into the bush.
Wining And Dining
Londolozi consider superb cuisine to be an essential part of the experience and it is a vital component of the philosophy. Much of the day revolves around specifically crafted culinary delights: morning morsels on the game drive, fortifying breakfast and lunch, and an indulgent high tea before sundowner treats on the evening game drive and finally, a traditional fireside banquet or a private dinner.
The choice of ingredients reflects the efforts to establish a respectful relationship with the planet. Each ingredient is chosen with care, favouring home grown organic produce, free range game, and herbs from the kitchen garden to create dishes that are irresistibly delicious and healthy. The selection of seafood is guided by the Southern African Sustainable Seafood Initiative and the number of imported ingredients is kept to a minimum. The recipes are a source of great pride; many have been handed down through the Varty family, while others were created in the Londolozi kitchen.
Spa And Wellness
Londolozi Wellness or ‘Londolozi Life’ as it is known, is designed to reflect and harmonise with the rhythms and cycles of nature. Londolozi Life offers the chance to create balance in body, mind and soul through the understanding that living in harmony with nature promotes healing.
Londolozi Life is integral to the philosophy of facilitating a deep engagement with nature and creating personal journeys of exploration. The Londolozi Life concept is unique, drawing inspiration from ancient healing methods and marrying the philosophies of East and West within an African context.
